In another patent application, Apple, which has become the property of the public network, it is a further development of technology, MagSafe, debuted in 2006 in a notebook MacBook Pro. According to information published in the company from Cupertino reflect on the use of functionality like the MagSafe adapters sold in not only branded laptops, but in a more compact electronics, for example, the iPhone and tablet iPad.

Recall the standard MagSafe adapters are held in the socket by means of magnets, which allows you to easily disconnect the power cord by pulling and reduces the risk of the laptop, if the user accidentally touches this line. The essence of Apple's new proposal is to use the so-called programmable magnetic connectors that do not just keep the cord in the slot, but also help determine what is connected to a portable device.

Thus, theoretically, you can use a single port for connecting different devices to, for example, energy supply and data exchange. In addition, technology like MagSafe may find application in the headphone jack, which will provide them additional protection from falling into the water and other liquids. Of course, all these innovations will find their actual implementation in the iPhone and the iPad not soon, but the direction Apple is thinking of experts is very interesting.
