Dell offers an upgrade to the official Android 2.3 Gingerbread for Streak 5

Dell has started offering an official upgrade to the operating system, Android 2.3 Gingerbread for your Tablet PC Streak 5, about whose quiet death we reported last August. Recall that the mobile device is the owner of the touch screen with a 5-inch diagonal, and has caused controversy at the time about what it is - a compact tablet or smartphone over-age. Indeed, some modern smart phones have a 4.5-dyuymovyit screens, so that the Streak 5 can hardly be attributed to this category. Thus, the U.S. manufacturer continues to worry about users Streak 5, cessation of sales in the U.S. which was caused, apparently, low demand for this product. While the Android 2.3 Gingerbread is now outdated version of the software platform, this update, however, was a step forward compared with the Android 2.2 FroYo. At the same time confirmed that Dell has no plans to update its 7-inch tablet Streak 7, the recently deceased in the Lord, to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and, apparently, leave it on the Android 3.2 Honeycomb.
