Brocade (NASDAQ:BRCD) is updating its ADX Application Delivery Controller (ADC) operating system providing new scriptable extensibility. The
Brocade ADX 12.4 release is the first major update to the platform in nearly a year, following the
12.3 platform that had a key focus on IPv6.
The new extensibility comes by way of a technology that Brocade is calling OpenScript. The scripting engine has some similarities to the iRules scripting engine used by
F5 as well as some key differences, according to Brocade.
"OpenScript is a deterministic application programming engine that has the scalability and the predictability that providers need," Keith Stewart, director product management for Application Delivery Products at Brocade, told
